Welcoming Fall
As the weather changes, your taste buds would be open to exploring seasonal items. Many teens will go ballistic for a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. Starbucks first started offering this drink back in 2003 during the Fall season and it has been a tremendous success ever since. If you like coffee, espresso, cappuccino, or tea this could be your “go to” drink. Fall isn’t just about pumpkin flavored items; apples and cinnamon are also quite popular. People have a variety of flavors they either like or dislike. “I do not like pumpkin spice lattes, but I do love pumpkin flavored items.” stated Mrs. Atienza.
With temperatures dropping and the sun setting earlier, our outdoor activities become limited. If you like getting spooked, Adam Pioch suggested going to Scarefest. Scarefest offers many different options such as a haunted house, a terror maze, a haunted hayride, carnival games and food that will make your stomach thank you afterwards. Many people enjoy an evening stroll to absorb the cool, fresh, crisp air and inhale the smells of an outdoor fire. In addition, a quick trip to the local Cider Mill to sip on warm cider, eat a variety of donuts such as cinnamon, plain, or powdered sugar will get in the fall harvest mood. We are spoiled here in Michigan as we get to enjoy all four seasons.
Another fall harvest staple for the indoors is candles. Candles are a wonderful way to spice up and jazz up your room. Bath and Body Works is the cherry on top when trying to select the amazing Autumn aromas. Mrs. Atienza pointed out, “Vanilla really does smell amazing; it’s my absolute favorite.”
Making fantastic food does not have to be a hassle; having Pinterest will do all the work for you. By just looking up a simple food item, hundreds of recipes with a certain food style will pop up and let you choose your favorite. Search pumpkin and you will find many fan favorites such as pies, bars, seeds, breads, cookies, soup, coffee, cakes, french toast, pancakes, and even pumpkin pasta for us Italians!
There are numerous options when it comes to decorating. Some take the pumpkin spice and everything nice approach by displaying hand carved pumpkins, colorful fall leaves, haystacks, corn stalks and lovely fall harvest sayings while others take a more haunted approach such as ghost and goblins and devilish looking creatures.
For a good night in you can gather friends for fun Spooky Night. You can before fun food such as donut holes, caramel apples, and fresh squeezed apple cider. Purchasing a haunted village is a fabulous way to create a spectacular decoration for the season. And do not forget to tune in to your favorite spooky movie.
Enjoying the frigid air will make you want to cover up with blankets while enjoying warm cocoa. “Hot cocoa is my go-to fall drink,” stated by Mrs. Atienza.
Fall is a time to welcome new beginnings, sip your favorite warm drink and cozy up with your favorite blanket at the fire. Fall has arrived.
