This album includes 11 songs that range from heartbreak to teen angst, skyrocketing her career almost overnight. Her hit single “drivers license” was released on January 8th, 2021. This song changed her reputation and formed her into the person she is today. Being the first song to hit 1 billion global streams in 2021, “drivers license” continues to grow in popularity while also touching the hearts of many individuals. A couple months later, Olivia Rodrigo released her debut album titled SOUR on May 21, 2021. Instantly, her songs grew to number one on global charts. Along with “driver’s license”, two more singles titled “deja vu” and “good 4 u” became popular hits directly after their release. Not only has she demonstrated her talents through acting, but she also has shown her talents through her singing and songwriting abilities. Olivia has grown tremendously since the beginning of her music career as her voice gets stronger and she performs more often. During the past couple years, Olivia Rodrigo has spread her talents through all types of performing arts and her creativity continues to inspire many. This year, she is going on tour starting in April and going through July. Although I did not get tickets, I am very excited to see all the videos and moments from her concerts. I highly recommend listening to her discography and learning more about Olivia Rodrigo. In addition, she is releasing a documentary regarding the creation of her album titled “driving home u (a SOUR film)” on March 25th that will be filled with all the behind the scenes information. Olivia has a big future ahead of her, and I am excited to grow up with her and her music journey.
