Dakota Key Club!

Dakota Key Club has been an ongoing community service based club at Dakota that focuses primarily on giving back to the community through teamwork. This club gives members the opportunity to build relationships with each other while having a chance to help others outside of the school.

Our advisors, Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Grimm, are very welcoming to everybody in the club. They are very invested in the idea of teamwork, and they include every member to ensure that they feel welcome. Despite the unexpected changes that occurred through the beginning of the pandemic, the advisors always allowed students the opportunity to connect to each other through Key Club. It has been difficult to run a club through a pandemic, but using the support of the members has really helped.

At our most recent get-together, each member made two valentine’s day cards to send to nursing homes. For each meeting, we try to include new ways for our members to give back to the community. Group meetings allow our members to be with one another after school and enjoy each other’s company. Doing community service work is a good way to build up Dakota and inspire individuals.

I highly recommend to underclassmen to consider being a part of Key Club in the upcoming years. Building up the community and developing teamworking skills is essential for working with others in the future.
