The man trudged through the endless forest, the snow on the ground crunching as he walked. The blizzard that twirled around him almost blinded him as he tried desperately to find shelter. Blisters formed on his fingers and nose after a long period of exposure to the cold inferno. He deserved this. He felt his body become numb through the course of three minutes as he stumbled through the trees. He mumbled to himself as he attempted to stay conscious. He had lost everything. The only thing he could lose is his life.

He’s on his knees.

He’s on the ground.

Keep your eyes open, please.

before you die without a sound.

The snow kept on falling as he thought of the family he used to have. The wife, the kids, the parents, the cousins, the brothers, the sisters. All gone. His greed overtook himself as he worked and worked for hours on end. One mistress later, a divorce was finalized. The kids and wife were never seen again. The brothers and sisters agreed with the man’s kids, as it seemed obvious that what he had done was true. His parents, oh his poor parents. His mother contracted Bronchitis and died in a hospital bed. Daddy was shot through the back of the head. the memories floated in his head until he saw black. The same black as his blisters became. There is nothing after death.
