O Liberty! My Liberty!

O liberty! My liberty,
Our fearful trips’ not done,
For the war has just started, and the fighting just begun.
The port’s not near but it’s bell I hear;
Ringing liberty and justice undone.

But O! I see!
Upon the sea!
The red of human blood!
Drowning,
And drowning,
And drowning,
And drowning;
Liberty’s drowning from the flood.
