Singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and record producer, Jack Antonoff is the lead singer of his indie pop band Bleachers. He has produced music for multiple artists including Taylor Swift, Lorde, Lana Del Ray, St. Vincent, Kevin Abstract, Carly Rae Jepsen, The Chicks, Clario, and Troye Sivan.

Antonoff has won five Grammys (one for co-writing for St. Vincent, two for his work with Taylor Swift on albums 1989 and folklore, and two for his work on his previous band fun.) Since he is so versatile, his input is able to be showcased in many different artist’s work.

Jack’s band Bleachers has become a huge hit throughout the new generation of music. Three albums later, his band appears to be widely popular, and he is currently touring with his band throughout America. His band ranges from all emotions of individuals, and he captures the feelings perfectly.

Antonoff utilizes his genius song-writing to bury the sadness and dark lyrics into a song. From the loss of his sister, Jack found safety and comfort in writing and touring as a distraction. For close-listeners, Jack says that his Bleachers’ songs are “supposed to sound like a person going crazy in a room alone – that’s what it is.” Jack’s ability to take sad and heartbreaking lyrics and transfer them into his music is a very unique quality of his.

There are not many artists that absolutely love everything about making music. Through multiple different videos and performances, any body that watches him can see how much he loves music. In the links attached are some of my favorite videos ranging from Jack performing to him explaining the making of his song “Don’t Take the Money”.

One of my favorite projects that Jack was a part of was “Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions” where Taylor Swift performs her album Folklore with the creators of the album (Jack Anonoff, Aaron Dessner, and Justin Vernon). This was the first time the creators have been together, because they created the album in quarantine during start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Getting to see the album come to life for the first time and see the creators of the album work together is something that was very long-awaited.

Overall, Jack Antonoff is everywhere in the music industry. His love for music shows through every project he is apart of, demonstrating that he is capable of anything that he works for. Jack has a natural ability to hear music in everyday life that most people wouldn’t be able to comprehend. Even if you don’t know Jack Antonoff’s name, he is definitely in the background of music everyone loves.
