Stress: Take Action
In the world we live in, there is bound to be conflicts, problems, and devastation. How can you not get mad over things that we can either prevent or take action afterwards? No one asks for things like several bizarre hurricanes to happen to a region of our own country. If you want to say that you’re too small or just one person or is doesn’t affect you but IT DOES.
We all have our own problems and even i can admit that our own lives can consume us but somewhere it is worse. Within the past month there was seven hurricanes with 13 other named storms, hundreds of thousands home evacuated from either flooding or wildfires. The Bloomberg recently released an article on how this year’s weather has affected plants like grapes.
Moreover, the article references how global warming has changed food supply. People are left without homes and food, they have nowhere to go. Some students within OUR OWN COUNTRY cannot go to school because of these devastations. As much as school and my own troubles stress me out, I am distraught that I can’t get up and go be there along side people. Everyone talks about how we should be connected but how is that possible when our own country is divided by destruction or because of politics.
There must be a point where we realize that this life is so much more than just us. If you want to look farther, you will find children still not allowed to go to school because their government is in turmoil. Places like Puerto Rico have no power. Things like rumors about others, relationships, or student sections are all things that are person to person conflict. Why not take a stand to help those living without food or water or a house?
Even within schools, kids don’t feel welcome and then turn to unhealthy choices. Instead of just hearing about what is happening and what others aren’t doing, start taking action our self. In the grand scheme of things, each person is important but only if we don’t forget about them. The people in these places are just that, people. Let’s help each other and start relieving some of that stress. There are so many platforms to do something.
Organizations are set up where students can donate money or food. Groups at schools are set up to help come alongside kids who are struggling just like you. You don’t have to save the entire world but you should start thinking of the world. Start somewhere. Stress and anger will cause a greater devastation than what we are living in if no one does anything. There are things you can start doing today, what is really holding you back from being more connected?
