An Obituary for Time
A little girl watches the pendulum of an ornate grandfather clock.
If time were not as cruel,
And life was not as fast,
I’d stop time all together, and cherish our moments at last.
If my tears could fill a river,
and cause a flood to start,
I’d take the water from the river and fill my broken heart.
If stairs were built by memories,
And they lead up to you,
I’d smile away all my tears,
And start smiling for you.
