The New Fate of TikTok

The New Fate of TikTok

On Sunday, September 13, 2020, Tik Tok reached a deal with Oracle in becoming business partners. This was announced after Microsoft made it clear that they would not be buying Tik Tok. The deal was made to satisfy Trump’s national security concerns about the app. “We can confirm that we’ve submitted a proposal to the Treasury Department which we believe would resolve the Administration’s security concerns,” TikTok said in a statement.

Trump approved and signed the deal once all concerns were addressed. As most people know, in the past, Tik Tok was supposed to get banned a few times, due to similar security concern issues. Each time those never took place because companies came to its rescue.  This is great news to hear because we all know the kids and teens worldwide love to use Tik Tok. As of now, it’s being said that Tik Tok will “spin off” into a separate company, while still being partly owned by The Oracle. Byte Dance, Tik Tok’s parent company, will keep majority of Tik Tok’s stake in the deal.
