St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, and it is time to get into the spirit. This holiday is also know as Feast of Saint Patrick, and is a cultural/religious celebration that takes places each year on March 17th. This date represents the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland. This tradition was believed to have began in the 17th century. We all know better to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day so we don’t get pinched!!!

Food is also a big part of St. Patrick’s Day, which includes corned beef sandwiches, corned cabbage, Irish coffee, soda bread pudding, potatoes, Irish coffee cake, and shepherd’s pie. These are all part of their Irish traditional when feasting. All are important for different reasons and have a different meaning behind each of them. Would it really be St. Patrick’s Day without corned beef…?

There are many ways in which you can celebrate this holiday along with some festivities you may take part in. A few fun festivities people can attend are the St. Patrick’s Day parade and drinking and going out to bars. Some other fun ways that this can be celebrated and fun things to do is by searching for four-leaf clovers, doing St. Patrick’s Day related crafts, listening to Irish music, and having an Irish coffee. Everyone celebrates it a little bit different…which makes it better.
