Dear Fellow Seniors,
Since this is the end of the road of our High School careers, I just wanted to give some advice that I have learned over the past 13 years.
I’m not going to say some cheesy “follow your heart” life advice. My advice to you, class of 2019, is to fake it ’till you make it. Everyone will follow a person who looks like they know what they are doing, no matter the situation. If you sound like you know what you are doing, people will not doubt you as much and you might even get the job. As DJ Khaled probably once said, “confidence is the key to success.” Even fake confidence works because after a while that fake confidence will turn into real confidence at some point in your life and you won’t even know the difference.
Enjoy life. Yes, getting a job in your career field is important, but so is doing things that scare you. Travel the world, or even all 50 states. Don’t just wait around for the opportunity to arise, make that opportunity for yourself. Create your own path and don’t regret not acting just because someone better than you is in the running. There is always someone who is going to be smarter than you, prettier than you, or even funnier than you. But they will never be you. There is only one you in the world, and no one can replace that.
Congrats seniors, we actually did it.
