On December 1st  2018 high school had one of its hottest games of the year. Spire academy was playing Garfield heights in a game. Both teams have players that are going to play at the next level. On spire, they have 6’2’’, Mark “Rocket” Watts from Detroit, Michigan committed to Michigan state. Also, in the back court with him is 5-star lamelo ball. He is one of the hottest high school basketball players out right now. Lamelo went overseas to play pro basketball at the age of 16 in Lithuania for a couple years. This year he decided to go to Spire Academy in Ohio. Lastly, spire has 5-star, 6’9”, Isaiah Jackson. Isaiah Jackson has many offers including Michigan, Michigan state Louisville, etc, and many more to come. On Garfield heights , they have a back court of brothers, meechie and sonny Johnson. Meechie is a 3-star guard that has offers from Michigan State, Ohio State, and Indiana. Sonny his brother is a freshman that starts on varsity, and has offers from, Robert Morris and Cleveland State. Both teams battled but only one could come out on top. Spire Academy beat Garfield 90-60. For Lamelo, he dropped an easy triple double with 20 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds.
