3 Of The Best Cider Mills In Michigan

Alyssa Taugher

1. Yates Cider mill

“Where the clock ticks a little slower, people sit and rest a little bit longer, and the provisions are always fresh!” Yates is one of the oldest businesses running in Michigan. Yates offers an apple tent, where you can purchase a variety of apples, ice cream shop, a grilling station, and of course the cider mill where you can buy all your sweet cravings from sweet apple pie to warm, fresh, cinnamon sugar doughnuts, and you can`t forget the classic apple cider! Along with all of this, yates offers a petting zoo, pony rides (on weekends), and a river walk including many beautiful trails within it. However, if you are looking for a cider mill with and apple orchard, pumpkin patch, corn maze, or anything that wasn’t mentioned above, yates will unfortunately not be the cider mill for you. Yates is the most basic cider mill here, but that is okay, you won’t be disappointed.  Go give it a try!

 2.  Blakes Orchard

Established since 1946, Blakes is a family owned cider mill in armada Michigan. Blakes offers a variety of attractions including “U-Pick” several different types of fruits and vegetables, including apples, pumpkins, tomatoes, pears, peppers, raspberries, and that’s just to name a few! To go along with the theme of food, Blakes also has many different “farm style foods” for you to take home including jams, jellies, salsa and so much more. And of course, we can’t forget about their delicious cider and doughnuts! Blakes is really the place to take care of all the food cravings you may have! After filling up, have fun with their straw mountain, tricycle tracks, sports zone, and a few other things to keep your whole family entertained! Blakes is going to be an all-day event, but so worth it!

 3. Westview orchards

Lastly, the oldest orchard, established since 1813. With their U-pick orchard from apples, raspberries, to lots of vegetables, pumpkin patch, cider mill, attractions, petting zoo, family fun weekend offerings, and even haunted hayrides and corn mazes at night, Westview Orchards will be sure to take care of all your fall bucket list needs! Along with all the basic cider mill elements Westview offers, they also host a special event of the week, like fall yoga, live music Saturdays, an annual Oktober fest dinner, and so much more every weekend. On top of everything mentioned here, they also have homemade fall and Halloween decorations for sale. And not to mention, the outstanding fall treats you can pick up, doughnuts, ice cream, pie, and so many more delicious treats. You will not regret any penny you spend here!
