The Met Gala formally  called the Costume Institute Gala or the Met Ball, is an annual fundraising Gala to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. The Met Gala been going on since the 1948. It starts the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. Each year the Gala celebrates the theme of the Costume Institute exhibition, which creates the theme for the dress code of the event. Each year there’s a different them. This year theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” The event was on May, 7th 2018.  Each year celebrities attends  the event and show off their out of the box outfits. The event is invitational only. This year the celebrities did not come to play in  their religion inspired outfits. The event was co-hosted by Rihanna and Amal Clooney.
