Austin, Texas Bombings

Last week, another tragedy occurred in the United States.

Mark Anthony Conditt was identified as being the person responsible for delivering bombs to the doorsteps of innocent people and waiting for them to explode. His actions caused four people to be injured and cost two people their lives.

To understand this event in its entirety you must look back to the days before the bombings. Conditt was seen at a FedEx wearing a blond wig, pink gloves, a baseball hat that drew some suspicion from the beginning. He had visited the FedEx to ship bombs in various places of Texas; one bomb actually exploded in transit. Residents who lived in areas where bombs were found were advised to stay inside their homes until the area had properly been cleared.

It was also found that on a public trail near the sub divisions, Conditt placed a tripwire which critically injured two hikers. Once the FBI gathered enough clues to track Conditt down, they sent SWAT team officers to corner him in order to arrest him. Conditt then detonated an explosive, killing himself before he could be arrested. Investigators recovered an approximate 25 minute confession video by the killer explaining that it was indeed him who committed the crimes and that he felt no remorse for what he had done. Police are still searching for a predominant motive, and are conducting interviews with the people who knew Conditt.

Mark Roessler, Conditt’s neighbor, described him as being  “polite, very quiet, and respectful.” This throws the case for a bit of a loop as his personality description doesn’t match with his actions. It is still unknown if anyone else was involved with the crimes but as of now, the case remains open.
