Brady’s Backlash

On Monday, January 29th of 2017, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady cut his weekly interview with Bosten’s WEEI radio show short.

At the beginning of the Super Bowl LII week, Brady heard reports of a radio host, not present in his weekly interviews, making disgusting remarks towards his 5-year-old daughter. The radio host’s remarks came in reaction to watching Brady’s Tom vs. Time documentary.

Since Tom calls into the radio show almost every week to make guest appearances, he called in for one last time stating that “it’s very disappointing” to hear the reporters remarks and that “my daughter, or any child, certainly don’t deserve that.” After staying other things about his disappointment towards the radio show, Brady said that “I really don’t have much to say this morning,” which appeared to be him threatening his appearances on the show.

Following Brady’s backlash, the radio host who made the remarks about the 5-year-old girl has been suspended, but Tom says that he “certainly hopes the guy isn’t fired” and that “we all make mistakes.”
