Conservative Chronicles Pt. 1.5 The Power to Tax

Conservative Chronicles Pt. 1.5 The Power to Tax

Whether you love or hate the idea of having to pay taxes there is a single entity that ensures that you have to regardless! That power is delegated to Congress. Now what is the Power to Tax?

“The Power to Tax” basically means what it says it means. Congress has the power and the absolute right to collect/levy taxes to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and welfare of the United States. Whether you care about my opinion or not is up to you readers. How do I think “The Power to Tax” is supposed to be interpreted? Well strictly of course! This is because taxes are too high! They are also the lowest they’ve ever been since ‘82 and they should be lowered even more. The government is way too big at the moment! Former President Ronald Reagan had correctly stated when he had said that “Man is not free unless government is limited”. As well as ”The problem is not that people are taxed too little, the problem is that government spends too much.” Which is currently correct because of former President Barack Obama’s social programs and partially from former President Bush’s second Iraq War. The country has doubled the national debt in a matter of eight years. We must stop believing that by throwing money at a problem will make it go away.Increased funding is not the solution. I believe that paying taxes is an obvious sign of trust and should be respected between the government and its citizens. Well it turns out that the national government is extremely incompetent with the funds they have now! Our national debt increases  $27,762.94 per second (based on the past 6 months). According to https://www.nabber.org/projects/debtcounter/

Now lets ask ourselves something. Why is our debt increasing so dramatically? It’s partially from the non-stop borrowing of funds and government spending on social programs. When will the U.S. government stop borrowing? At this rate never, we will never live to see the national debt become a surplus ever again. Keynesian economics fails because its very hard for the government to stop spending once it’s officially started. It’s like expecting a compulsive shopper to stop purchasing stuff they want and really do not need. That is what the federal government is a compulsive spender and it is up to the politicians that the people elect to dig through all the mush and slop to figure out what people need and don’t need in the US budget. By increasing taxes we increase the flexibility of the problem. We don’t solve it. Taxes are legally forms of theft. The only time we indulge with more than what we have is when there is and only when there is a surplus and from looking at the debt clock and confirming only more of my crippling depression can I say that we are not even close to having that surplus. ($20.5 Trillion) A great example of this is during Thanksgiving, our families generally feast on turkey when the meat on the turkey and not on the bony carcass of the animal! It’s not true when they say that Republicans hate funding roads and schools. Republicans believe that they need to have a common sense budget that does not require money that the country does not  own and continue to spend it on funding social programs! What’s really horrifying is the fact that the entire U.S. is run on credit essentially and that is terrifying for me to conceive. I hope that in the future government officials stop this machine of spending money we do not have and fix this mess because taxes affect not just me but everybody living in this great country of ours. Or that the states eventually step in and help solve this crisis.
