Last Saturday January 14, 2023 our Varsity, Junior Varsity, Middle School, and our two Elementary school teams all competed at our home DTU competition. To start off the competition our Varsity team competed against 8 other teams in the large varsity category. This category is highly competitive and they were hoping to gain there redemption against Anchor Bay Large Varsity Jazz who had beat them at a previous competition. Large Varsity Jazz won with a total score of 93.97 beating Anchor Bay by .54 points. Our Junior Varsity Team went up against 3 other teams in JV Jazz category and one by 7.2 points, keeping the competition far away. In the Large Varsity Pom category Dakota kept the competition far away beating 8 other teams by at least 1.25 points. Just like our Varsity team, JV kept the winning streak alive beating 2 other teams by at least 10.2 points. It was a clean sweep for the Dakota Dance program with Dakota Varsity Jazz taking home grand champion for the highest scoring dance all day. The Dakota Dance program has one more competition before they compete in Orlando Florida for a national championship. Special mention to JV freshman Payton Hubler who competed in the junior solo division and got 5th overall with a score of 88.40.
