Last Saturday January 14, 2023 our Varsity, Junior Varsity, Middle School, and our two Elementary school teams all competed at our home DTU competition. To start off the competition our Varsity team competed against 8 other teams in the large varsity category. This category is highly competitive and they were hoping to gain there redemption against Anchor Bay Large Varsity Jazz who had beat them at a previous competition. Large Varsity Jazz won with a total score of 93.97 beating Anchor Bay by .54 points. Our Junior Varsity Team went up against 3 other teams in JV Jazz category and one by 7.2 points, keeping the competition far away. In the Large Varsity Pom category Dakota kept the competition far away beating 8 other teams by at least 1.25 points. Just like our Varsity team, JV kept the winning streak alive beating 2 other teams by at least 10.2 points. It was a clean sweep for the Dakota Dance program with Dakota Varsity Jazz taking home grand champion for the highest scoring dance all day. The Dakota Dance program has one more competition before they compete in Orlando Florida for a national championship. Special mention to JV freshman Payton Hubler who competed in the junior solo division and got 5th overall with a score of 88.40.

Our middle school team the Chippewa Valley Sequoiaettes also had a clean sweep in the middle school Pom, Team, and Kick categories. For our 3-5th graders the Chippewa Valley Indianettes went up against the highly competitive Lake Orion team. The Indianettes came out on top winning the elementary school Jazz, Pom, and Team performances. For our K-2nd graders they placed 2nd in Mini All Star Jazz and won the Mini All Star Pom category. In the Youth Solo division Sequoiaette Avianna placed 10th overall with a score of 82.43 and Kayla who placed 7thoverall with a score of 83.50. In the Mini Solo Division our Papoose and Indianettes went head to head with Indianette Katelyn placing 10th with a score of 77.70 and Papoose Reece placing 9th with a score of 78.13. In 8th and 7thIndianettes Sophia and Eden were separated by only .03 points with the scores of 78.40 and 78.43. Indianette Kiera placed 6th overall in the Mini Solo division with a score of 79.10 and Papoose Stella placing 5th overall with a score of 79.70. The highest scoring solo for the Chippewa Valley Mini Solo category is Indianette Aubree with a score of 82.97 coming in 3rd place. The Chippewa Valley program dominated the Mini Duo/Trio Category with 1st -10th all being Chippewa Valley Routines. Coming in 3rd place was Chippewa Valley Indianettes Aloufa and Aubree with a score of 81.93. In 2nd place was Indianettes Emma, Emma, and Penelope with a score of 82.90 and in first place was Indianettes Penelope and Olivia with a score of 83.20. Overall it was a great competition for our Chippewa Valley Teams and they will also be competing at the Pistons Pom Classic next Saturday.
