We are around the half-way point into the season for the NHL and the Red wings are doing better than expected, they are currently sitting on a 18-16-7 record which is a lot better than how they were doing last year during this time. On Thursday January 12th the Red Wings faced off against one of their oldest rivals the Toronto Maple Leafs, since 2017 the Red Wings were 0-13-2 against the Leafs, on that Thursday night the Red Wings finally pulled off a 4-1 win Against one of their oldest rivals.

Moritz Seider has recently been on a hot streak lately; the Red Wings played the Winnipeg Jets and beat them 7-5 while Moritz Seider had 4 assists in one game he is the first red wing defensemen to record 4 assists in one game since Mike Green in 2017 VS the Minnesota Wild. Lucas Raymond has also been tearing it up lately he has the third most points on the team behind Dylan Larkin and Dominik Kubalik, as Lucas Raymond had a slow start to his beginning half of his sophomore season he has been picking it up lately he currently has 13 goals and 17 assists adding up to 30 points scoring 1 goal against the Toronto Maple Leaf’s.

Dylan Larkin however has been on a hot streak the entire season; he has been a true leader and a goal scorer this season leading the red wings with goals and assists while also having the most points on the team. Dylan currently has 14 goals and 24 assists tallying up to 38 points on the season while only playing 40 games, Ville Husso on the other hand has had a phenomenal year so far since joining the Red Wings he has been a complete stud only averaging 2.99 goals a game while having a .902 save percentage the fans of Detroit love this guy, Steve Yzerman the Red Wings General Manager picked up a great player. The Red Wings have chance to make the playoffs if they can, it will be a tight spot for them if they keep playing like they have been the last couple of days.
