The Red Wings and Rangers have been battling since the 1920s and it has been a treat for hockey fans all over the world to watch these Original Six teams go at it. Last night the Red Wings and Rangers faced off at Little Caesars Arena, the Red Wings had a strong two periods, in the first they held the Rangers to one goal, the second period the Red Wings scored twice making the game 2-1 going into the third period, third period comes the rangers score six unanswered goals to make the final score 8-2. Other than last nights game Detroit and New York have a big history. They have played each other a total of 601 times since the beginning of the NHL. The Red Wings record against the Rangers is 272-219-103-7. Every time they play each other the energy in the building is insane and it is a game to watch.
