Fast growing pop sensation, Billie Eilish, has stepped into the spotlight over the last couple years and we can’t take our eyes off her. From music, to concerts, to award ceremonies, Billie has become a very big influencer throughout music. She has released two albums and one EP since 2017, proving that her work ethic has been constant for the past five years. She began music at age 13 alongside her brother, FINNEAS, in 2015. However, her musical journey began long before this. Billie sang with Los Angeles Children’s Chorus starting at eight years old, and she even brought the work of this choir into her song entitled Goldwing from her second album, Happier Than Ever.

Billie Eilish was born on December 18, 2001 in Los Angeles, California. She was born into a family of musicians and actors, showing how she was introduced to the arts ever since she was born. Her parents, Maggie Baird and Patrick O’Connell, were both in the entertainment industry and influenced Billie and her brother Finneas through their exposure to music.

Billie’s EP, don’t smile at me, was released in 2017 and contains nine tracks including her hit single ocean eyes. The release of her first album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, was released in 2019 and is 14 songs long. This album demonstrates Billie’s evolving voice and how it changes as she grows up. Looking at her most recent album, Happier Than Ever, Billie acknowledges her growth and experiences throughout her life and turns it into an album of many emotions. The album, released in July, discusses many topics that circle back to her youth and how her past has impacted her present-day self.

Another thing to note is her strong connection to her brother, FINNEAS, who she makes music with. Billie always ensures to acknowledge her brother’s hard work and how he has contributed to her life. Throughout her most recent Happier Than Ever tour, she brought Finneas alongside her whole journey. She plays alongside him for the entirety of her show, giving him just as much credit as she gets. They work together for a lot of her career and guides her through the music industry.

Along the way, Billie has had many accomplishments for her work. At age 20, she has won seven Grammys and even won an Oscar. Her hard work has definitely proven to pay off over the course of her young career. Her song, No Time To Die, which she made with her brother for a James Bond movie, is the song that won the Oscar for Music (Original Song). Not only has her music thrived in it’s industry, but her music has also grown to be a success outside.

Billie Eilish has become a very major role model for many musicians and singers of a young age. She shows that hard work and dedication to one’s craft can take someone far. Billie has been one of the fastest growing artists of our generation, and she continues to spread her work elsewhere. Billie has a big future ahead of her career, and I am excited to see where she goes.
