DETROIT- Welcome to Monday Night Metro Detroit!

Tonight’s sunset was at 8:10 p.m. ET.

As expected, we had a line of showers and even some thunderstorms move through Metro Detroit earlier this morning and even more earlier both the afternoon and evening after a brief lull in the action during the late, late morning and early afternoon hours. But tonight, we will quiet things down as the skies gradually clear out late. But first, let us focus on the here and now, shall we?

Okie-dokie! So overnight tonight, we will have scattered showers this evening as shown on “ZV LIVE RADAR” that are moving from west-southwest to east-northeast along a cold front that is currently pushing itself through Metro Detroit. But they should all end after 8pm as the skies clear out late along with overnight low temperatures only in the upper 30s and light winds west-northwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow morning’s sunrise is at 6:57 a.m. ET.

THE REST OF THIS WEEK:

Your Tuesday morning will feature both a mostly clear and chilly start around Metro Detroit along with temperatures starting in the upper 30s to low 40s and very light winds west-northwest at 2 to 5 mph as we get up and get going for either work, for the parents, or for school, for the kids. But then, we should be under mostly sunny skies for the entire morning into the early afternoon hours before the skies become partly cloudy for the late afternoon hours along with both daytime high temperatures only in the low 60s and light winds southeast at 5 to 12 mph.

Scattered showers with maybe even a rumble or two of thunder possible Tuesday night along with overnight low temperatures flirting with 50 degrees.

But now, here is where things get a bit crazy in terms of the weather, of course! Your “Hump Day”, or Wednesday, will feature periods of both rain and some thunderstorms, but it will not be an all-day washout by any means! There will be some isolated thundershowers in the morning with a brief break from all of the action during the late morning and early afternoon hours. But then, some strong to potentially severe thunderstorms come into play for the afternoon hours, mainly after 3pm along with both daytime high temperatures soaring into the low 70s and winds cranking south-southwest at 10 to 25 mph. And finally, the Storm Prediction Center has already issued a Marginal Risk, which is the weakest risk (being 1 out of 5) for strong to severe storms for the afternoon hours, again beginning after 3pm, so all eyes will turn to the skies indeed!

Scattered thunderstorms possible Wednesday night along with overnight low temperatures in the upper 40s.

Your Thursday will feature cooling conditions down after some morning showers and storms along with both a daytime high temperature of only 60 degrees and gusty winds west-southwest at 15 to 30 mph, gusting over 40 mph, at times! So, remember to hold onto your steering wheels, especially for high-profile vehicles such as: RVs, SUVs, buses, trucks, and semis so you will not be swerving on those roads. And watch out for any debris blowing. And finally, make sure to charge all of your mobile devices in case your power goes out, as sporadic power outages are possible!

Partly cloudy skies, cool, and breezy too Thursday night along with an overnight low temperature of only 40 degrees.

Happy Good Friday 2022, Metro Detroit!! Your “Finally Friday” will feature scattered showers, cooling, and windy conditions again as we wrap up both the work and the school week along with both daytime high temperatures only in the upper 50s and gusty winds southwest at 15 to 30 mph, gusting over 40 mph, at times too!

Mostly cloudy skies and quite chilly Friday night along with overnight low temperatures flirting with 40 degrees.
