Saturday March 12th, 2022, I attended the Billie Eilish concert in Detroit at the Little Caesars arena. It was an amazing show, the opener for the concert was a band called Duckwrth and they did an amazing job and getting the audience excited, along with being an overall solid performance by Duckwrth. Billie’s concert alone was breathtaking, and it was obvious how much time and effort Billie and her team put into making this an utterly amazing show. Her set list for the show included many of her old songs from previous albums along with songs from her newest album called “Happier than ever.”

Billie Bringing back some of her most popular songs from albums that date back to when she first started as a big artist brought back a sense of nostalgia for when she was a young teen who was able to expand and develop a closeness with her listeners as many of them can personally relate to her lyrics and what she discusses. Many of her songs deal with the outside pressures that a teenager faces every single day. Weather it is home life or friends and even dating she captures how those expectations of others weight on a person’s self-image in songs such as idontwannabeyouanymore, I love you, ocean eyes, everything I wanted, lovely, and bury a friend are just a few examples.
Her performance was overall amazing, and I personally do not think she could have done any better with the show. She went beyond to engage with the audience, to make sure everyone was doing all right, and genuinely enjoying her time with the audience.
Billie in her performance also took on spreading awareness on public issues in her show as well showing slides on several different major American issues in the country such as Black Lives Matter Movement, global warming, Women’s rights, LQBTQA+ rights, and many more
Below are some pictures of the concert and of Billie.
