Spiderman No Way Home opens up so many opportunities for the future of the MCU

The cameo of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in Spiderman: No Way Home opens many opportunities for the future of the MCU.

The Marvel comics have so many characters we have yet to see in the MCU, most specifically in the movies. Daredevil, previously being a Netflix series, being brought onto the big screen can mean so many things.

For starters, there’s rumors that Daredevil (civilian name Matt Murdock) will be in Marvel’s She-Hulk series coming out on Disney Plus where he plays the main character’s attorney. While his character may not play a very big role just yet, his appearance is still huge. If you haven’t watched the series, I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

We know from Spiderman NWH that Daredevil is in fact in Peter’s universe. And from the DD series, we know that there are multiple other heroes that are in Matt’s universe, including Iron Fist (Danny Rand), Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, who all have their own Netflix series and a joint show all together titled Marvel’s Defenders. So, who’s to say one of them won’t appear in future MCU big screen movies since Daredevil did?

In the comics and the Amazing Spiderman animated show, Spiderman and Iron Fist are allies and are even on a team together. And with the ending of NWH, this now opens up the opportunity for that to become a reality, especially since Iron Fist and DD are in the same universe, and DD canonically exists in Peter’s world.

Also, from the ending of NWH, in the sky you can see the outlines of some of the more infamous villains Spiderman has fought in the comics and in the cartoon with his team. The outlines show The Beetle, Scorpion, The Rhino, Black Cat, and Kraven the Hunter. All these villains he’s fought with his team which includes Iron Fist, White Tiger, Nova, and Power Man.

There’s been no rumors or news about Power Man or White Tiger making an appearance, but there has been news on the hero Nova, or Richard Rider. Richard is a normal New York high school student when the last survivor of Xandar’s Nova Corps, Rhhoman Dey, is dying and chooses him to replace him. Richard is given the Nova Centurion’s powers, but absolutely no instruction on how to use them. Xandar is the planet that Thanos invades during Avengers: Infinity War, so the door is wide open for the introduction to Nova.

The writers of Guardians of the Galaxy actually originally wrote him into one of the first drafts of the first movie but ended up scrapping the idea as they thought it would be too early to introduce him to the world. Additionally, there were talks of Nova appearing in the big scene in Avengers: Endgame where all the heroes come back from the Blip and fight Thanos, but he never made it into the script. However, there are talks of a Nova movie beginning production in 2023. If Nova’s powers are from the same Xandar that Thanos invaded in IW, then there’s no way he won’t make an appearance very soon, more specifically with Spiderman.

In the end scene of NWH, it shows a little bit of Venom being left behind from when he was transported to this universe. In the movie Venom Let There Be Carnage, we know that Venom already took an interest in Spiderman the first time he saw him, but he was sent back to his own universe before he could find him. There could be the possibility that Tom Holland’s Peter’s universe could have its own Venom (and perhaps Carnage), or this could lead to the introduction of Agent Venom. In the animated series and comics, Peter’s nemesis, Flash, gets the symbiote and becomes Agent Venom: a stronger, armored version of Venom that helps Spiderman.

With Tom Holland’s Spiderman being contracted for three more movies, the possibilities with all these different heroes are endless, especially with the introduction of the Netflix Marvel characters.
