Editorial: We All See What You’ve Done
October 10, 2017
“Nobody could have done what I’ve done for Slaves with so little appreciation.”
-Not Abe Lincoln
“Nobody could have done what I’ve done for Berlin with so little appreciation.”
-Not Ronald Reagan
“Nobody could have done what I’ve done for civil rights with so little appreciation.”
-Not Lyndon B. Johnson
In this unloving world we are living in right now with familiar faces being shown as unknown predators and shootings just being categorized as natural disasters at this point. What we need right now is leader to lead us past this darkness. Someone to look up to as we feel like we are falling.
But how can we do that? When all he does is look down on us.
A leader doesn’t just ask for it then get respect. He needs to earn it. He earns it from his actions. He earns it through his dedication. He earns by being the leader that we all hope and want to be one day. It’s very hard for me to respect a leader when his actions involve doing things like this tweet. It’s getting pathetic and we’re getting pathetic. This is more of a plead now. I’m begging this thin skinned illiterate to get his head out of his rear and his phone out of his hand and actually help a human being. Once he actually helps a person, because baby steps, I’m hopeful but also realistic. Maybe he can start helping MULTIPLE people.
And if you do help people, Mr. President, that’s great. However there’s no need to boast about you’re accomplishments on social media like a 4 year old who wants attention for using the potty for the time. You shouldn’t expect people to kiss the ground that you walk on because you threw some paper towels. Little appreciation? Guess what, it’s a thankless job. It’s a thankless world. You aren’t just rewarded riches every time you recycle or open the door for someone. You do it because it’s the right thing to do. Lincoln didn’t free the slaves because it would boost his ratings. You do it because as a president, you have responsibilities to serve this country. Just because you follow them does not mean you deserve our loving gratitude.
Change probably isn’t going to happen anytime soon. You’re here for four years unless at this point you shoot someone. Even then, can’t say that’ll do it. All I ask is that you start acting like a President. You represent us as a nation. The world sees America when they see you. Don’t embarrass us.
And earn my respect.
Although, despite all that pleading I just did, it’s really hard for me to respect someone who has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women and who has also gone on record saying he likes to grab women in very inappropriate ways. However that’s just me. Some people feel different.
Thanks for reading.

If this isn’t the most backwards arse thing I’ve ever *attempted* to read. The IRONY in this line alone has me dying. “I’m begging this think skinned illiterate to get his head out of his rear and his phone out of his hand and actually help a human being.” Seeing as you’re, “Editor in Chief”, please consider pursuing a different area for the Dakota Planet. Remember, commas exist.
Now, here is why your logic is flawed. You believe Donald Trump doesn’t help people, and that if he did, he shouldn’t “brag” about it. When you judge a person based on what they say off social media, that in of itself shows that you cannot form an educated opinion. Additionally, I’m quite certain that the amount of aid, One Billion, is going to help more than one person, maybe even MULTIPLE. I’m also pretty sure that you didn’t donate that much money, if any at all. Insinuating that someone shouldn’t ever expect any reverence for something they’ve done is completely false. Please, tell me that as long as you live, you will never expect any sort of appreciation. Personally, I wouldn’t be embarrassed if another country saw me helping people survive. Beyond the idea of humbleness, peoples’ lives are being saved because of his help, and should take precedence over it. While he does have a responsibility to serve this country, I’d like to remind you Puerto Rico is not part of the U.S. I’d also like to personally ask you to set aside any bias you may have accumulated through work, school, home, and research and form your own opinions. It’s too dangerous for people our age to adopt a belief without research.
